Pros

I love the team I work with. There are a lot of special people at Appfolio that help to make it a great place to work

Cons

I left a 5 star review 8 years ago. Every year since then it has rang true, but today I deleted it. The new CEO of Appfolio is burning the culture to the ground. We have moved from a people focused company to purely a profit driven company at all costs. The way that employees were treated during the most recent layoff was nothing short of cruel, and in this day and age companies should know how to make one happen without throwing the mental state of all employees to the curb. Set aside a time to have a synchronized conversation with those that will be leaving the company. Let their managers know at least a little bit ahead of time. Provide management level employees with tools to help handle the fallout. Appfolio should be embarrassed. Shane Trigg has no idea how to be empathetic. His messages always come off as cold and always miss the mark, and I see no comprehensible reason why the Board would stand behind him other than to have him be a scapegoat to get our financials to whatever dreamy number they are thinking of. It is honestly hilarious that his Linkedin profile states that he is an "exceptional communicator with demonstrated ability to gain commitment from prospects, customers and employees" as it is completely false. I 100% guarantee that Appfolio will not be on the next "Glassdoor top companies" list and I would not recommend that anyone apply for work here (not that we're hiring anyways).
