BOE has an employee rating of 3.5 out of 5 stars, based on 22 company reviews on Glassdoor which indicates that most employees have a good working experience there. The BOE employee rating is in line with the average (within 1 standard deviation) for employers within the Management and consulting industry (3.7 stars).
Company has been around for over 60 years. They are a retail distributor of Xerox and therefore can operate with less limits and bounds a.k.a higher sales pay. Competitive base salary, plus commissions (the REASON for a sales job!). Medical, dental, vision, 401k, car costs covered 300-500$ month. Great office environment, super friendly co-workers.
Cons
Sometimes, those that have been at the company for a while aren't willing to help those that are new. Believe in throwing out new employees into the flames so to speak (could be good, and terrifying for some people) did a cold cal on the first day. Grueling outdoor B2B sales, got to be ready to grind. If you are not confident, bold, and outgoing you will not make it for very long.

Thank you for taking time to write a review, and for your hard work as a member of our sales team. You've touched on our stability, strong comp and benefits, and great culture, and we're happy to hear that you're pleased with what we offer our employees. Team members like you are what makes BOE a great place to work!
You've underscored that sales can be a challenging--yet rewarding--job. Successful sales consultants in our industry understand the value of prospecting and resilience, as you shared. While we're disappointed to hear that some tenured members of the team have not been as helpful as anticipated, we appreciate you sharing this feedback. We also appreciate your suggestions regarding incentives and company vehicles, and will share these with our leadership team.
Again, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. We're glad you're here!
Company seems to bleed money away. I don't know maybe they don't want to show a profit, so they don't have to pay much in taxes.
Cons
Most large accounts are already taken.

It’s clear from your review that you’re frustrated in your Sales role at BOE, and we’re saddened to read this. We’d like to better understand your feedback and follow up, and can accomplish this with more specifics. What are we spending time on that you feel is meaningless? In what ways do you perceive that we’re bleeding money? We have an open door policy, and strongly encourage you to talk with your Sales Manager, VP of Sales, any member of the Executive Team, or Human Resources about how we could improve. We don’t want any employee to have a 2-star experience, and sincerely hope to hear from you soon.
We’d like to provide some perspective for readers of this review: Territory integrity is important to use, so those new to our Sales Team work to build their book of business in an assigned territory, which includes existing accounts. Managing a large account takes a different approach and specialized training, which we provide. For this reason, our large accounts are handled by our Major Account Executives. We’re proud to offer a career path for exceptional Sales Representatives that aspire to move up to the Majors. If this is an option you’re interested in, let’s chat!
Thank you for making us aware of your frustration, and we hope to continue the conversation so that you feel good about your decision to be part of the BOE family.
