Growing Company!

Pros

Exceptional onboarding process with a dedicated mentor. Fast growing industry - very broad opportunity for sales success. Company has great foundation for process, but lots of room for individual creative work as well. Relationships matter here. Very strong business outlook with plenty of depth in senior leadership.

Cons

None that don't exist at any other sales team environment. Successful team members here are motivated, coachable and fast paced.

Great Place to Work!

Pros

People are friendly and helpful. Planned events for staff throughout the year, both related to the business and for fun. Company makes donations to charities and community outreach that benefit the community and give sense of making a difference in the jobs that we do. Leaders model the right behaviors, which is a strong contributor to shaping workplace culture. Company is a living wage employer and strives to hold fair and consistent accountability when needed, while celebrating successes together!

Cons

Any job has its ups and downs but when looking at the perspective of comparison to previous jobs, can honestly say that any cons would be negligible. It can be difficult to recruit in a rural area, however candidates like myself find that making the transition is worth it.

Pros

Hybrid work depending on the role

Cons

Upper management will delegate the workload of 3 people to 1 person, and have you completing tasks outside your scope of experience and education. Concerns regarding work load and uncompensated hours worked outside of contracted hours are scoffed at. Compensation does not align with workload. Senior management will find every way possible to not pay commissions if you are in a salary plus commission role. No recognition for success and growth, no matter how well of a job you do it is never enough. If senior management decides they don't like you for any trivial reason, they will have HR harass you through all means necessary in to quitting. High turnover rate of employees due to all of the above. If you last there 2+ years you will be one of the longer serving employees. Team members resign and are not replaced, workload is simply delegated to other team members.

Britespan Building Systems Response

Thank you for your candid review. We’re truly sorry to hear that you felt that your contributions weren’t fully recognized. It’s something we take very seriously here at Britespan, as we aim to create an environment where every team member feels valued. We have systems in place to review compensation regularly, to ensure it’s competitive and reflects our participation in the living wage program. Unlike some companies, we don’t cap our commission structure and firmly believe that success can be shared, as it is achieved. In the past couple of years, we have made significant changes to enhance and upgrade our policies and practices and can clearly demonstrate that harassment at any level is not tolerated. As part of this effort, we educate all personnel that there will be times when management must follow up with performance and it is not harassment, providing of course, that it is done professionally. We also clearly outline where, if a leader’s conduct is unprofessional, what path to follow to report and have the matter investigated. As a company that has experienced rapid growth over the past decade, there are times when we all feel the pressure of additional workload and/or, covering a vacancy when someone leaves the company. When these situations occur, Senior Leadership takes a step back to assess and restructure positions if needed, so that if volume of workload and/or jobs have evolved, then changes can be made for the better. We are committed to ongoing improvement, and your feedback will be taken into account and where applicable, help us continue to enhance our workplace. Wishing you nothing but success in the future.
