Pros

I worked here for a few years and I can say you do meet genuinely nice people.

Cons

Join the tribe.... and that's exactly what it is. The cult at Bulletproof is one of "Eat... or be Eaten". If you do not fit in you will know about it right away. Some people are very politically driven at Bulletproof and if you are working on a project you not only have to work on something that has a ridiculous turn around time because they don't know how to push back on client demands, but you also have to be able to back yourself up when eventually upper management will blame you for anything related to the project you're working on ... even if it's not your fault. The work ethic they have at Bulletproof isn't one of learning or support, they have separated Juniors, Mids, Seniors, Directors onto their own tables, so in other words you have no one to learn from, no one to mentor you. When you are working on a project with other people, it's not seen as a opportunity to come up with ideas together, it's seen as competition to beat your opponent otherwise you will be berated as the weaker designer. The few nice people who you meet along the way, have all been specifically hired as churn and burn designers. They are too afraid to speak up, insecure and basically get bullied into staying really late at night to finish a job. If someone doesn't, they will be fired and paraded around via an email message to scare everyone. You can sense the cult through the positive messages left on this site, each one has been crafted by HR, upper management or one of the "lads" that fit into the regime. You can forget about being promoted or any pay rise. Your "bonus" is an annual trip that is heavily monitored.. think of it like a school excursion. In short, stay clear... you have be warned.

Pros

Some people that work there are very nice. The client and projects are great and a brill addition to your portfolio

Cons

The whole company ethos is one of a blame state. They don't really work as a team as everyone is constantly trying to cover themselves and look for any person to push blame onto - this includes middle management. Everyone that works there seems to be permanently in fear of loosing their job. They expect far too much from their staff, and even when staff do well never encourage or praise them . If you ever go home on time they don't like it at all.

Pros

You do meet some great people here and with the right mentors, you will learn and grow a lot. I gave it two stars because I did genuinely enjoy my first year here, the insurance was good if you're single, and had a decent amount of vacation days.

Cons

The company has become more and more political through their rapid growth period. Upper management plays favorites and if you're one of the chosen few you will flourish here. If not, you will be over looked time and time again. The accounts team knows who they like working with and don't give opportunities to other people to help them grow as well. Business is the bottom line and they reward employees who kill themselves over deadlines instead of teaching the accounts team how to manage client expectations so that everyone isn't working late every night. If you get on their bad side, or simply don't agree with their 'high standards' then they will find any reason to make things difficult for you and eventually get you out of the company. The more exciting design jobs go to the same few people while the rest are stuck on the tedious, difficult client jobs. If you talk to management about any concerns you have, they're all talk and no action. They put off annual reviews which therefore put off any salary adjustments that you are owed.
