Hostile Work Environment issues were brought up by employees but were not taken seriously by upper management and were covered up. It was not until employees took complaints outside of the company that they were officially documented and addressed; this lead to a very uncomfortable work environment for months on end. In addition, the office was VERY quiet (probably due to the awkwardness of the situation), but in general, the feeling of talking aloud was strange when upper management was there. There's a tendency for upper management to micromanage, correct minor grammatical errors and let you know what's wrong with your work instead of letting you know you're doing a great job (sometimes corrections are needed, of course, that's not what I mean). Project Managers are away from the office on weekly job site meetings which makes it difficult for communication on projects to Assistant Project Managers. They pay well, but unfortunately, it's not worth it.
