Pros

Free food. Have made some great friends.

Cons

I got offered the job last March for an August start date. After I signed my contract, they increased my hours by 20% and doubled my job responsibilities for no extra pay, telling me I either had to accept this revised contract or they’d find someone else. Having handed in my notice five months previously, I didn’t really have a choice but to accept. What a mistake. Though I enjoyed my first few weeks, the feeling didn’t last long after it became apparent that the direction this company is under from the MD and founder and the vision it is setting out to achieve is totally unsustainable. All Clean wants is to open as many sites as possible (latest venture looking like Dubai.. lol) as quickly as possible in the cheapest possible way, when they haven’t even bothered to invest in getting the basics nailed at their existing sites first or looking after their staff. The turnover rate is astonishingly high due to the poor conditions and low pay, yet I was still told to reduce the payroll even further i.e. not replace leavers, and thereby increase everyone else’s workload and stress; something I felt pretty awful about having to do. As a parting gift, I echoed the many complaints and grievances from Clean’s miserable employees to the MD, however following the most recent spate of resignations in the ever-shrinking Head Office (citing work-related mental health declines) it appears that was brushed aside and Clean is continuing on the same tunnel vision trajectory. I really do not understand how a company that has recently added People to their list of values can treat their employees the way they do, but all I can say now is I feel so much better to be out. Thank you, Clean, for teaching me what I’m worth and what I should not have to put up with in any job.

Pros

Honestly can’t think of any

Cons

Poor food safety standards Poor Health and safety standards Don’t get paid on time Head office micro manage which wouldn’t be too bad if they knew what they were saying Dangerous venues Very very quiet Toxic culture Get told BS 24/7 A business for social media, no actually care in standards, staff, customers, suppliers but as long as the tik tok and insta look good that is all that matters Business is not 100% sustainable it is all lies I could go on for pages.

Pros

The Front of House teams and kitchen teams are great and friendship continues outside of work. Lots of cool events and cool people.

Cons

The founder has no idea what is going on, demands things with a click of the finger and if you don't get it right, expect an abusive message or phone call. Many staff members have mentioned a decline in their mental health due to the way the founder has treated them. It's absolute chaos behind the scenes, very unorganised when it comes to events and other things. Things constantly changing but no one is told due to lack of communication, then you get the abuse for it.
