HR and I agreed on compensation during the initial interview but then the offer came at a lower rate without reason. I should have taken this as a red flag and declined the offer My direct manager was not only incompetent but a power-hungry dictator. I would be assigned work but whenever I had any questions, she wouldn't know the answer and couldn't even tell me who I could ask within the company. On multiple occasions, the CFO would have to re-explain things to her that she could not grasp as did my trainer when she sat in on my training to the point the trainer would get frustrated and I would have to explain it to her. But the worst part about her was that she was super power-hungry and yelled at me for even going to the bathroom and logging in 10 minutes "late" because I had computer issues meanwhile, she walks in late half an hour each day even on my first day. Not to mention the breach of privacy when she would go into my desk drawer on my WFH days. Eventually, I started locking my drawer and she broke the handle off from yanking on it too hard. And there is no employee confidentiality with HR because the onboarding survey that I filled out that was supposed to be confidential got into her hands and she spent an hour grilling me on every single thing I wrote and demanded that I update my survey with HR because it made her look bad. There was a question asking if job shadowing opportunities were available and they weren't so I answered as such but somehow that made my manager look bad so she retaliated by making me learn my teammate's responsibilities so I can cover for her while she's out even though my manager was supposed to be the one who covers for her. The list goes on and HR is NOT on your side. However, the rest of the company was super nice and lovely to work with. But this company is going downhill from what I saw so there won't be any job security.
