Toxic work environment

Pros

salary is good but not worth the stress

Cons

Where to even start... There's an overall toxic work environment - people are fired on the spot for daring to voice disagreement to the point that everyone is afraid to speak up. The culture of fear is not a nice place to work but also leads to a 'keep your head down and only do only as you're told' attitude. Very churn and burn with staff. People are constantly badgered to work when on sick leave or public holiday. Overtime and working on the weekends expected constantly to meet impossible commitments with no rewards. Leadership is constantly changing priorities. The tech itself is old and software development practices are abysmal. Anyone trying to implement change is fired. Engineers are constantly being thrown from one disaster to the next without resolving the root cause or improving anything. There is a just do the bare minimum and 'fix it properly later' attitude where later never comes. There used to be a lot of smart people working here but most have recently left en mass. There's not a lot left to work for - terrible hours, toxic culture, no one to learn from, & the work itself isn't interesting or rewarding. I can't see how this company can keep this house of cards going. It's one of the worst places I have worked as an engineer.

Clueless Higher Management

Recommend
CEO approval
Business outlook

Pros

Salary is a little above market, but they will make you work twice the hours more.

Cons

1. Clueless and egoistic CEO. 2. CEO's personal hires, handling tasks way above their knowledge and abilities. 3. At least 11 hour working day. 4. Good people leave the company en masse. 5. The whole goal is to increase the valuation of the company, so all money is put into increasing sales, so that the CEO and other management can cash out. 6. People have actually left the company because it was affecting their mental and physical health. This is a terrible company to work for and best to avoid at all costs.

Pros

Pay was above industry average

Cons

Anyone seeking a rewarding and long career should avoid this business. What you will find here is a company marked by poor communication, particularly from leadership, contributing to a toxic and stressful work environment. Operational inefficiencies and outdated technology further hamper productivity. The culture of blame, lack of trust, and disregard for employee well-being, including expectations to work during illness and off-hours to deal with regular outages and incidents, led to high staff turnover. The lack of professional conduct from executives and an unbalanced focus on short-term gains over product quality made the experience unrewarding and challenging, causing many skilled employees to leave.
