Pros
1)on time Salary 2)Annual Bonus (did not pay one year in pandemic) 3)General feeling in company is "this is secure job" 4)Worklife balance 5)36 hrs a week (8 hrs a day and 4 hours on friday) 6)less stressful when there is no workload 7)even non-technical or below average people can survive easily
Cons
1)40% less salary compared to other peer companies in UAE 2_)Annual bonus will be retracted once employee resigns so no bonus for last year 3)sometime there will be no work at all and people will fight (cold wars) to grab any work so that they can showcase it 4)sometime there will be lot of pressure just because someone at the top wants it to showcase somewhere 5)because of limited upcoming projects, people will keep the new work close to their chest, will not involve the team in new technology projects or will not mentor or guide or let other know anything about new projects so that other people's lack of awareness and lack of knowledge will give them advantage to be in limelight 6)no quality work, no processes, no learning, no career path, dont expect promotions or technical growth 7)highly political environment, full of gossip 8)typical yes boss culture. they dont like it when resources says NO. 9)one should be in good books of managers to get higher ratings and better increaments and for this you dont need to be hardworking or technical expert at work but just smart enough to showcase that you are technical guru and you have done everything, out of office favors to bosses and management will do wonders in your appraisals here. 10)most of the time managers dont know whats happening on ground. 11)no overtime, no on call allowance, no weekend allowance, no work from home 12)micro-management at its best, different rules for different employees based on how close they are with their boss 13)toxic work culture, no etics, 14)terrible HR team, tech managers often cry foul saying HR did not allow this facility, they did not give any increments this year. 15)HR team treats IT workforce as blue collar workers
