Pros

I work at the General Office in Fort Smith. Depending on the department you work in, there can be a lot of young people. In my experience, they recruit a lot out of college. So if you are a young person coming out of school, you will likely be working with others around your age. Benefits are really good, including dental, medical, vision, and 401K match. Compensation is also good, especially for the area. There is a lot of opportunity to move around in the company if you aren't happy with the department you are in.

Cons

Fort Smith may be the biggest draw back about the company. Not much to do and in general a pretty low income town. On the plus side, cost of living is really cheap. At times it's difficult to recruit people to come to the company because of where it's located. The company is extremely conservative and very "by the book". Although OT is almost never required, it is expected at times and can really really take a lot of time outside of 8-5. The corporate bonus structure is a joke and rarely pays out. The vacation policy is also terrible, 2 weeks until you have 6 years of service. The company in general has been struggling and recently had to do a large round of layoffs. As of Jan 1, 2017 the headquarters and premises around the building will be tobacco free. I'm not a tobacco user but this will impact a lot of people that work in the office. I'm not sure how the company will be able to actually enforce this, but something to be aware of if you are tobacco user.

Pros

Pay is best in the business. $100,000+ first year as a road driver. Year two I made $107,000… and took two months off for cancer surgery. Year three I made $129,000. I average 2-3 nights per week in a hotel. Usually only 1 night out then back home the next day. Frequently running turns (home at end of the run). Insurance is free and EXCELLENT coverage. I paid $1,000 total out-of-pocket for cancer surgery.

Cons

Not much life/work balance. Frustrating spending time on the extra board waiting to get a call to go to work, but with more seniority you get less wait time.
