Pros
There are cool projects from time to time but there are cool projects and cool work to be done everywhere, so....
Cons
You are not a person here, even though they like to refer to you as their 'greatest asset'. I didn't realize how dysfunctional this company was until I worked somewhere else. There are massive layoffs every year to make the financial plan so executives look good to shareholders. I've known a lot of people who were laid off as a result and you get a week of severance for every year you are there and are walked out the door immediately. For those that stay, it's like Christmas if you get a $1000 bonus at the end of the year but I wouldn't expect it. And that doesn't even get into the struggle of engineers and architects who have to work into the night to make utilization targets. Getting hired here as an engineer is not a job, it's a project after which you have to hustle to find another or get fired. My experience was of narcissisistic, dishonest leaders, and terrible leadership decisions. I'm so glad to be somewhere else -it's much better outside AECOM!
