Pros
The good news is there is decent work/life balance. You can take time off if needed. Flex time. Work from home / remotely for many positions. Pay is good. Decent opportunities for advancement / transfers if you're willing to relocate (not every position is remote-able). A lot of good line employees who really care about the place and the customers.
Cons
Senior management is completely clueless on how to run a business, and nor do they want to. Primary interest is on cost cutting in order to achieve quarterly numbers & bonus. Customer satisfaction is put dead last, as is employee satisfaction. Bonuses and manipulating the numbers for shareholders is priority #1. Many employees have not had raises in 5+ years. Benefits are mediocre at best (health insurance is high deductible with no option to increase coverage at your own expense). Technology is obsolete with horrible tech support. Most systems are extremely slow or not working at all. Tons of senior management but less and less line employees every day. Half the staff have VP or director in their title. Layoffs, off shoring, and furloughs are continual. Low to non-existent employee morale. Completely disorganized management and departmental structures.
