Pros
-2 shutdowns each year -Pay is good
Cons
-Amgen had an safety incident this year which has led to a "safety culture" that is completely unreasonable. Women are forced to wear pants. Reports are filed if someone is walking down steps in high heels. Employees are treated like children, not highly trained and qualified staff. -With the ascent of Bob Bradway, Amgen is now cutting corners and cutting costs anywhere and everywhere, from the cafeterias to the number of steps it takes to move a molecule to the clinic. Bob's methods will no doubt boost EPS temporarily but long term it will hurt the company tremendously. -People are forced to spend a significant amount of time in worthless trainings and pointless, repetitive meetings. -Management has been threatening layoffs for an entire year. Productivity has plummeted and people are becoming despondent.
