Pros

Excellent benefits (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401K match, parental leave). Flexible work schedule (+/- one hour at start or end of day). Our group works 9-hour days and get every other Friday off. Work in Security and IT is very well documented, so everyone does the job the same way; which is HUGE plus for someone new starting here.

Cons

Only given 2-weeks vacation at start and 1-day per month earned after, with no sick days (you have to use vacation days when you're sick), a lot of other companies give 3-weeks vacation per year and 5-days sick days on top of that. There is a lot of turnover in the Security and IT groups due to high work load and stress; but if you are used to working a fast paced high output job - it won't be an issue for you.

Pros

The hybrid schedule is a major benefit and provides a good balance between in-office collaboration and flexibility.

Cons

Career growth can feel limited if you are not originally from Utah or already connected within the local organization. Time off can feel limited compared to the government customer you support. The customer often receives more holidays and administrative leave, but contractor employees may still be constrained by sector policies even when the contract generally follows the customer’s schedule.
