Pros
It's almost hard to remember how nice it was working for BMC. Financially speaking, there haven't been raises in 10+ years, GICP is based on things that the employee cannot control and insurance for the employee used to be paid at 100% with better quality insurance companies were the norm . Feel-good wise, the company used to pay for internet, used to give gifts at the holidays. I'm sure there were other things but it's been so long, I've forgotten; but the good feeling is gone.
Cons
It feels like a sweatshop. The company has let go so many employees and so many long timers have moved on. There are very few of us left and those that are here are so focused on CYA that one should not be surprised to be thrown under the bus if something happens. Jobs have been outsourced and those of us remaining are expected to train them. Management at my level are afraid to make decisions and react so slowly to customer problems that I'm surprised BMC hasn't been fired.
