Pros

(+) Manager is super motivating: Good work receives constant appreciation. Manager's feedback constantly encourages me to do more and better. (And also to stick to Base2 longer) (+) Micromanagement is absent. (+) With the flat hierarchical system, any one from management regardless of their seniority is as approachable as the rest of the workforce. (+) CEO, management and front desk always appear cheerful and happy. Everyone is not just open but always welcoming new ideas (+) Colleagues do not sound over worked or stressed out. The office mood though professional mostly stays light and fresh (+) Good growing cultural diversity (+) Options to choose from standing / sitting / both workstations (+) Public transport / parking reimbursement (+) Located seconds from the BTC, Bellevue Mall and Restaurants (+) Nice decor, beautifully decorated lounge. View of the Cascades (+) Several free lunch days a month.

Cons

(-) Health benefits though better than last year, could still be improved further (-) Building and the facilities at the building premises are outdated (-) As seen in most tech companies male - female ratio is heavy on the male end. The 7:1 ratio goes further down if only the IT staff is accounted for (meaning minus the HR, Recruiting, accounting, Front Desk)

First of all thank you for taking the time to submit a review and give us feedback. It is always great to hear how we are doing. I thought it might be helpful to share a my perspective about the Cons, all of which I agree with. - Health Benefits - Our benefits have been steadily improving over time and I believe they are competitive in the market. However, we need to do better and are looking for ways to do that. Medical insurance is a challenging space for all US companies, but you can rest assured we aren’t content to rest where we are. We are looking for ways to improve it and to make sure that all of our benefits are the best we can provide. Our people deserve nothing less. - Building - We are in the 2nd oldest high rise (7 stories!) in Bellevue and it is a bit dated. It was a conscious decision to place ourselves here. Our facility costs are lower than average which helps us be competitive and take better care of our employees. We have put some of that savings into creating the best office space we can, and I am happy to see many of those investments on your Pros. - Male - Female Ratio - We couldn’t agree more. We spend a lot of energy trying to recruit a more diversified work force. We will continue to put effort here. So if you are reading this review, you are a woman, you want to work for a company that has really high standards and is one of the best places to work in the Seattle area - PLEASE APPLY!! Thanks again for the feedback and for helping us to make Base2 a great place to come to work every day. Ron Hopkins, President & CEO

Pros

Once in a while you end up in a place that is so wonderful, you have to wonder what you did in a former life to deserve something so great. This is how I feel about working at Base2. I must have been a saint or something at some time(I'm certainly not now) The Company's priorities are delivering a great product and providing a healthy and happy work environment. This place is not a churn and burn of bodies. There is a great group of people and certainly, there are situations where you have to put in the extra hours, but as a general rule, work/life balance is the philosophy. I am a seasoned professional and have worked in a myriad of industries and companies and this will be my final position. Posted in the hall is a poster that states “People before profits” and the company lives by that philosophy. Everyone benefits from the prosperity of the business.

Cons

Well the con for me, is not really a con - the company is a wholly owned foreign subsidiary so the reporting is a bit tricky... but not really a con, as they cash
