Fun work environment, access to new technologies and sometimes free food.

Store manager main excuse is usually always "not in budget work hours". When your co-worker calls out and you are by yourself. Trying to get one of the salespeople to help you and everyone including the manager on duty says no. It's truly overwhelming to do everything all by yourself. They want you to learn EVERYTHING within 2 weeks time and even with 3 weeks it's stretching it. Unrealistic expectations with your training. Especially learning planograms. They teach you a crash course on doing planograms, leave you by yourself and not all the items are there that you need for planograms. If you want to become a full-time employee GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND! It seems you will need permission from the current Best Buy CEO to go from a part-time employee to a full-time employee. Store manager will tell you "it's not in the budget work hours". Does not matter if you complain or set up a meeting with the managers at the store. Need a no-harassment and no-bullying policy and actually enforced. When I worked there certain employees were bullies to me for no apparent reason. Sometimes it was a harsh work environment. They made a big deal out of a small mistake. Upper executive management got rid of the display project team at Best Buy. Now the warehouse team at Best Buy have to take down and build displays and they were already busy enough with all their job duties. It seems too easy to get fired from the store manager if you are not meeting their job unrealistic job expectations. If you are in sales this is for you: You can truly help people and can be very knowledgeable on varies things but if you are not meeting Best Buy's unrealistic goals of not signing up people for extra warranties, Best Buy credit card your job is on the line and can be let go for it. I overheard the conversation from the current Best Buy sales manager tell their employee this.

-It's a job that is available in most locations.

Cons

-The company, on a corporate level, doesn't seem to grasp the value of the talent they have. - Close ties with Citibank subvert the importance of product knowledge, customer service, and revenue for credit card sales. - Daily Performance check-ins are overbearing and myopic. - Tends to burnout motivated employees with false carrots and hollow promises. - Pay's terrible, and rides the line of predatory at times.
