Pros

Very fun, albeit challenging, place to work. Spent my entire adult life there pretty much until I was laid off last year. If you can find a position outside of the store as I did for most of my career, it's absolutely fantastic. The store is great too, but it comes with all the drawbacks of a retail job. Would definitely go back for the right position.

Cons

Varying hours/shifts depending on your position. Due to the current nature of brick and mortar retail, there are always re-orgs which sometimes lead to layoffs. No longer much career advancement due to so many positions being eliminated for the sake of efficiency and profits..

Pros

Best Buy was arguably my best job I’ve ever worked. The work environment is fun, the recognition from the company is great, you feel connected to your peers, sales is emphasized but not forced down your throat. The customers were overall pleasant. You get your upset people as with any other company but Best Buy there was not much room for disappointment. The growth was there if you want it.

Cons

The pay is not a livable wage past a certain point. With kids and bills I unfortunately had to leave. Growing within Best Buy is kind of a who you know situation. While not horrible, it’s discouraging, or can be rather.

Pros

Travel to different store locations. On travel that requires a hotel meals are covered up to $80 a day. Mileage is reimbursed outside of 20miles from home and back.

Cons

You're required to have a car and it puts alot of strain on it and your body. You could be gone from home anywhere from a few days to a few months. Changes are very last minute.
