Pros
The Firm has a broadly based set of service offerings and a broad base of clients, allowing for great career flexibility within the Firm. Their professionalism is respected, and the pool of intellectual resources available is impressive. We better integrate technical skills and business processes than any large firm I'm familiar with. The hierarchy of the company is quite level, making most employees your peers, and everyone approachable. The Firm takes its employees seriously, and will work to take care of its own. They allow you to make your employment experience your own, allowing for flexible working hours and a good work-life balance.
Cons
The manner in which the Firm is structured is similar to a law firm, which places the Firm at a competitive disadvantage in comparison with other Government contractors. There are discussions of restructuring, but implementation is overdue. Despite their self-title as a consulting firm, the company is becoming more and more of a traditional contracting company rather than a strategic thinking consulting firm. The Firm only rewards the technical competency of its employees so far, beyond which one must exhibit business savvy to excel. If you have aspirations of great leadership and success within a company, but are note interested in the business end of things, I would wait for Booz's restructuring before signing on.
