Thankless job - Freelance Science Editor Cactus Communications Employee Review

The money is really low. Starts at 14$/1000 words. The reviewers appear to have been given a mandate to make sure the editors don't get more than that (and if possible, less). It is frustrating when you put in your best efforts and end up getting way less than minimum wages, and some rude, incorrect comments from the reviewers. The worst thing is that, when you take this up with the management, there is either no response or a lukewarm, standard response that doesn't change anything. Take up this work only if you have no other option.
