I worked with Cactus Communications for almost 4 years, and my experience as a designer was disappointing. There is no respect or value given to designers in this company. The entire focus and power are centered around content writers, while designers are treated as secondary.
Writers, who often lack design knowledge, constantly interfere in design decisions and give unnecessary changes. Despite raising concerns, managers never listen to designers’ problems, and instead, they always prioritize content teams. This creates a frustrating work environment where creativity is restricted and undervalued.
From my very first day, I asked for finalized content before starting design work. But the content team never worked efficiently. Instead of providing clear and final content in advance, they would only give it after seeing the design, forcing endless rework and wasted effort. This shows a lack of process, professionalism, and respect for the time and skills of designers.
In short, Cactus only gives importance and authority to content writers, ignoring the contributions of designers and other teams. If you are a writer, you may find opportunities here, but if you are a designer or a creative professional, be prepared for a lack of recognition, growth, and support.
