In the oil and gas industry its a great name to have on the resume, as Chevron folks generally know their stuff. Also, the company generally walks the talk about health, safety and the environment, which feels good as an employee.
Cons
The company is very large and can be slow moving at times. Employees have to be very vigilant about moving ahead in their careers, as the company is happy to have you stay in one area and dedicate a career to one aspect of the company. Pay is not as high as other oil and gas companies, especially the independents. The projects can also be big, slow or unwieldy at times.
