Pros

Very thin personal ranks allows for rapid advancement and assumption of increasing responsibility by young employees. Very intelligent people who have managed to avoid the majority of the pitfalls of the current credit crisis, by being on the right side of the ABS market and instead generating revenue from foreign exchange and rates departments. Stable banking (retail banking) platform also enables the bank to avoid funding issues and runs on money. Slightly lower returns on equity is acceptable if it enables the bank to be around in a year or two from now.

Cons

European bank with headquarters in London puts less focus/understanding on US activities than US based investment banks.
