Pros

The training provided is the best in the business. The company culture is fantastic - employees are genuinely rooting for your success and willing to help you along the way. The opportunity of having your own successful business with the strong supportive base that the home office provides is exceptional, if you are in the right time of your life to take advantage of it.

Cons

It's hard. Extremely hard. Here are some things to consider - 1. The company is still "old school" when meeting clients. You will knock on doors in neighborhoods until you just dont think you can knock anymore...and then you'll find a way to knock on 20-30 more. It's awkward, it's defeating, and it's extremely inefficient. I'm not saying that Jones should move away from the model - I understand and support its belief that an advisor/client relationship should be personal and begin with a face to face contact. But it will take A LOT of man hours. You have to be prepared to work 4-5 late nights a week and Saturdays for at least a year before you can back off a little. It sounds doable - but when you couple the long hours with the awkwardness and inefficiency of what you are doing, it wears on you. You really need to be 100% committed to this job for the first several years in order to grow it well enough to sustain you (there is reward for the hard work in the long run - you just won't see it for quite a while). 2. Your salary is not guaranteed for the amount of time Jones says it is. If, at the 8th month mark, you are anywhere below "exceeding expectations", your already low salary will drop by 30%. They don't tell you that when you are hired. They tell you that you will have "x" salary for a year and then a decreased salary in both years 2 and 3. What they fail to mention is that the salary quotes isn't guaranteed. 3. They DO have a fantastic training program, however it still isn't enough.

Pros

They have allowed the HBA’s (home based associates) to remain remote

Cons

Micromanagers, they say they are okay if you want to apply to another department within the firm but the minute you do it’s like you get a target on your back. The pay doesn’t match the workload and the word is that you have to quit and then come back to make what you should already be getting paid. Benefits are terrible but 401k is pretty good
