Nepotism Old Boys Club Edward Jones is at a bit of a crossroads right now, with a management team that is trying to move them into the future, with diversity and inclusion, and a workforce that is fighting tooth and nail every step of the way. As an advisor, you will work incredibly hard and be poorly compensated for it the first 3-5 years. Then it will level out to where work and pay are fairly equal, and at some point you'll move into the stage where you are overcompensated for your work. My biggest complaint about EJ though is their disingenuous "folksy" image. They will put out press releases with statements saying that the Regional Leader is a volunteer role, when in reality, Regional leaders get partnership that can easily equal $100K-250K in additional income for life. That is not "volunteering" by an stretch. Edward Jones is a great place to launch your career, but then going independent is the smartest move. Don't build a book for someone else, build it for yourself. Look at firms like Raymond James, Commonwealth, and LPL among others.

Pros

They have allowed the HBA’s (home based associates) to remain remote

Cons

Micromanagers, they say they are okay if you want to apply to another department within the firm but the minute you do it’s like you get a target on your back. The pay doesn’t match the workload and the word is that you have to quit and then come back to make what you should already be getting paid. Benefits are terrible but 401k is pretty good
