Pros
Great training relating to getting all required licensure. If you get an office, overhead is covered along with salary of assistant. The company is ubiquitous (which can also be a downside). You are able to work your own schedule.
Cons
Lower payouts...due to the fact that Edward Jones covers the overhead of your branch office. Very high attrition. Imposing contract for people new to the industry. The way you're trained to gain clients is by knocking on doors. With the individual office, company seems fractured. Home office does its best to work in this system, but it's difficult for the new advisor in his or her own office to really get business going...unless he or she is fortunate enough to take over a book.
