Pros
I'm a senior manager (above VP level) and a core team member. - Generally great core group of people in key positions. Colleagues are bright and ambitious. - Allows for interaction with the best and the brightest, particularly externally with both clients and 'Council Members'. You really get a chance to interact with captains of industry and finance. - Firm is fairly flexible with employees, allows opportunities for those who excel including international experience. - Good overall compensation structure. Not competitive with top levels of finance but otherwise the firm pays a good wage. -
Cons
- Great foundation and seemingly market leader in a great business however this firm has only a few more legs unless something significant happens. CEO has led business for about a decade and has done a good job growing the firm to this size but it is clearly time for a change. - CEO doesn't understand strategy, has no idea how to fully capitalise on the great platform that has been built in today's modern age. Firm itself has no clear strategic vision, just getting by on the wins of yesteryear. - CEO has spent oodles of hard-earned cash on hair-brained schemes that don't make sense and are unconnected to core business. - CEO unable to retain top talent - significant turnover at the senior level.
