Pros
You meet some incredibly smart people. I made some great friends as we struggled together. Misery loves company I guess. You learn a lot about grit and what you’re willing to put up with.
Cons
Short answer - I joined a team of 10, and within a year I saw 8 of my coworkers quit and 7 of them have some sort of mental/emotional breakdown. Everyone was so incredibly stressed and frustrated. For my team in particular, I think we all loved each other and our direct team leads. That said, the company culture, the higher ups, and most especially the demands of the management consultant companies (our clients) requested of us were absolutely insane. Truly made me come to a point in realizing that many management consultants are coked out sociopaths that do not think twice about trying to call you at midnight on a Friday because they want to put a comma somewhere on a project. Or will literally scream at you over the phone for the stupidest reasons. Too many examples to list. I loved my team, but GLGs upper managements inability to defend us from the insane demands of our clients made me realize I had to quit or I would lose it. I was burnt out for 2 years after leaving this job. But hey, I’m still close friends with people from my team that I suffered with. This all happened almost three years ago, so take this with a grain of salt as maybe things have drastically changed since then. Honestly I’m just posting a review because Glassdoor is telling me I need to post a review to be able to use it.
