Pros
Each individual in the Construction team I worked in is very talented and will be successful wherever they end up. OTE is theoretically good if it's reached which is not the norm.
Cons
So many to name it's tough to put into words. Firstly the role is mis sold to almost everyone on the team. They are hiring Senior BD people for fundamentally a telesales role. Mentality is to ring as many irrelevant leads as possible and hope for the best. Once you get lucky enough to book a demo you will then have to put up with your manager actually steamrolling your deal with some of the oldest, cliche driven monologues I've ever heard. At times I was wondering if I had been transported to the 1960's with the constant sexist, homophobic and old school sales talk coming out of management almost daily. Aside from this the overall organization within the whole company is laughable. I could be listening to a plan of action for the month in our team meeting and then is contradicted by the same person 5 minutes later which emphasizes the general consensus that management is winging it. Conversion rate is the worst I have ever seen at any of my prior jobs. This is a combination of the leads being an absolute joke to your manager literally taking over your deals and offering discounts with or without your consent. Lastly a comment about the overall office. Tatty would quite an understatement. Chairs and tables are badly in need of replacing, paying for coffee on your floor is unheard of in other sales environments, toilets are disgusting, lifts are a joke, invest in a cleaner how you can call yourself a multi national company and still not invest in a cleaner is not ok.
