Pros
Finessed some of my skills as a recruiter, and got to a place where I was billing well and has ultimately benefited my career long term. Training is first class really.
Cons
Old school mentality. It's as if senior management tend to resent newbies for "having it easy" because they don't have to make cold calls from yellow pages all day every day. Recruitment has moved on... I think this bares out in the fact that their fees have dropped 10% in the last year as a business. Over emphasis on KPIs which is a very old school mentality which just hurts your reputation in the market long term as clients and candidates are the recipients of these practices. Bit of a revolving door. People left during my first couple of weeks up until my last day's at the firm. Preferential treatment and cronyism underpins the office culture. Basic salary and comms aren't competitive in the industry. Lots of pointless meetings too...
