Pros

Great job if you're customer and people oriented, and hotel experience seems to look good on a resume and is a good stop if you're looking to move into a more professional field from food service, etc.

Cons

Upper management micromanaged and "nit-picked" every small, irrelevant detail from the size of your earrings to the way you did your hair that day. Everything was based on aesthetics and the old-fashioned notion of looking "prim, proper and professional". You are watched during your interactions with every guest and encouraged to "not get too friendly" with them. You will be called out for wrongdoings in front of guests at the desk and talked to like a child. However, when an actual guest issue does arise management is no where to be found and you're the one screamed at for following policy- which changes daily depending on their mood. Overall not a bad experience if you love people but management makes it difficult for truly friendless, genuine people to last because they force you to put up a stiff facade that reflects poorly on the company

Pros

The staff extremely well mannered, and in most cases very respectful always seemed happy to see people actually return.

Cons

Some of the supervises ask for more complained that you weren't getting your job done after that put 2or3 more jobs for you to do because thay couldn't keep anybody around long enough to train them.
