Pros

Flexible hours but nothing else

Cons

I am currently working for Ikea. I am not going into all the details, but I am pregnant, Ikea never sorted my documents for maternity leave so I had to contact HMRC for help. I took all my holiday before my maternity leave as that is a procedure in the company, and just before Christmas Ikea didn't pay my holiday and I am with £200 for the holidays, with no money to pay rent, and no money to buy everything necessary for my coming newborn child. The worst part is when I called the company they promise me to call me back as they are busy and no one ever does, or no one ever replies to my emails, so again I have to look for legal support to survive the month.

Pros

I have a very empathetic and flexible manager. Although I do meet the requirement to be in office three days a week many others do not and don’t seem to suffer for it. My work can be challenging at times, but due to the slow pace of most things here I rarely feel overwhelmed.

Cons

This is, without equivocation, the most sclerotic organization I have ever been a part of. The management structure and reporting lines are inscrutable and even after 3 years I barely understand how my team fits into the larger picture. My job is a data role, and although getting access to data has improved somewhat, it is still one of my biggest blockers.
