Pros
At the time, a college reimbursement program (not anymore) Great discounts from display model furniture and returned furniture Work with a diverse group of people (people from all walks of life, IKEA promotes diversity) Loose management and structure (pro or con?) if you're good at your job you get special treatment, no late write ups, flexible schedules (weekends off in retail is normally unheard of) From what I heard, great benefits for people with families and kids. Was one of the top places for working mothers, not sure about recently
Cons
USED to have a great college reimbursement program that paid around $2500 Loose management and structure (pro or con?) if you're good at your job you get special treatment - because they want to keep you there. My experience with management was that once they found out that you didn't want to have a career there for life, they would treat you as a seasonal employee. There are lifers here and they get offended if you don't embrace the culture to their standards.
