Pros

Excellent training facility. Training for freshers is very good. Good knowledge sharing facilities. The Knowledge Shop, and various forums within the company are very effective. Very robust processes (though process overhead is a little too much). A good place to learn software processes

Cons

Pay package is very disappointing. Compared to industry standards, pay is quite less. Percentage of variable pay is very high. For example, for band 6 (Project Managers), 60% of their pay is variable. And you never get anywhere close to 100% payout of your variable pay, so the salary you actually get in hand is quite less than the salary on paper. Good company to join as a lateral. Laterals get more than 50-60% more salary than employees with similar experience. Many of the newer HR policies are anti-employee. During the past 1.5 years, a lot of policy changes have happened within Infosys that have caused a great deal of dissatisfaction and anger among employees. Infosys used to be an employee friendly company; it has changed a lot in the past 2 years. Insincere communication (or no communication) from leadership. Communication about various new policies and events are very insincere and some are downright hilarious. Creates mistrust of senior leadership, HR and their intentions, among employees.

Pros

Job stability – Infosys is known for long-term employment and steady projects. Strong brand value – Having Infosys on your resume adds credibility and global recognition. Good learning opportunities – Access to internal learning platforms, certifications, and training programs (especially for freshers). Global exposure – Opportunities to work with international clients and global delivery teams. Structured processes – Well-defined policies, documentation, and governance. Work-life balance (project dependent) – Many teams offer reasonable working hours. Employee benefits – Health insurance, paid leaves, and wellness initiatives. Safe and inclusive workplace – Strong focus on ethics, compliance, and diversity.

Cons

Salary growth can be slow – Compensation increments may be lower compared to market standards. Limited flexibility in role changes – Internal mobility and project switches can take time. Bureaucratic processes – Decision-making can be slow due to multiple approval layers. Project allocation delays – Bench time and delayed onboarding to projects can happen. Variable learning exposure – Skill growth depends heavily on the project assigned. Less innovation in some teams – Certain projects may use legacy technologies. Onsite opportunities are limited – Compared to earlier years, onsite roles are fewer. Performance appraisal transparency – Rating systems may feel rigid or unclear.
