Pros
You have time to upskill.
Cons
You are given very little opportunity to grow with real hands on experience despite having larger clients. This is mainly due to offshoring work or providing opportunities to H1B employees first over employees who were born/live in the United States. It is a caste system. Managers constantly lie, and deflect blame or responsibility from themselves to anyone else in the guise of helping you. Training material is outdated, wrong or tests you on material that wasn't covered in training. Internal certifications often have vague questions, questions that are poorly formatted to a point of being unreadable where you have to just guess. Mentorship is non-existent, and the best you can achieve from this is helping your coworkers, and have them help you out. Laptops provided are locked down to a degree where upskilling is a chore since technologies that need to be learned, and played with are better installed and learned on your personal computer.
