Pros

Lush is a company aligned with my ethics and morals. -The products they are selling are of great quality -People are respected regardless of their opinions/appearance. -Great staff perks -Training received is educational and useful in the real world -The pay is good - very rare to find positions in retail that pay the London living wage

Cons

-The micromanaging from supervisors can be unbearable at times, and unnecessary. A lot of us working as sales assistants are adults and don't need to be directed and told to do things every 5 minutes (things are common sense really). Most times people have quit it has been because of members of staff higher up being on their case or just being mean. -Sales targets are unrealistic at times. -You are encouraged to be yourself but sometimes the whole 'loud and proud and super bubbly' attitude is forced on people. -Favouritism is also a huge issue. -It's a job I wouldn't recommend to someone with anxiety. -A criticism that has been given to Lush time and time again has been the overwhelming customer approach from sales assistant yet it's still something that we are trained and told to do. It's too much and needs to be dialled down. There's absolutely nothing wrong with trying to help and encourage customers but it really shouldn't be as intense as it is.

Pros

Discounts, we got 50% off of most items

Cons

Unhygienic, stressful, money hungry, fear monger. Unprofessional managers both as an employee and customer. Never experienced such low life conditions, manager brought in animal multiple times in store, and made staff clean its pee. Customers were floored, inexcusable and HR is unresponsive. The bathroom is disgusting, and inaccessible. I cannot imagine any one with a physical disability being able to use the restroom. It was so difficult to suck in your stomach, then trip on box after box. They BLOCK the fridge and made us put our food in our tiny lockers. Manager is too comfortable with the amount of time spent within the company to ever fear facing any consequences or repercussions. Even fired staff in the past for contacting HR for help.
