Pros
It is a strong business, with great Leadership at the top. Employees seem to be dedicated to the business, and are given opportunities to learn new roles within the company.
Cons
This company is a political mine field. Their company slogan is Nordstrom, Nice. What is actually going on is individuals with many years in the company controlling a complex political structure. Norstrom encourages people to move around and try out any position they desire, without proof of their ability to perform in the position. This results in many of the employees not being qualified for their positions. In the technology side of the business, this kills productivity, and adds a lot of overhead in relationship management. There are a few individuals that are working in their areas of expertise. These individuals are slowed down by compex and erratic IT support team, and by co-workers and team mates that have no idea how to perform their job. I am seriously thinking of leaving because of the culture, and know of other individuals in the IT organization that have left for similar reasons.
