Pros

Oliver offers competitive pay, generous PTO, and a solid benefits package, which made it stand out compared to my previous employer. During my first account with a fintech client, the work environment was relatively low-stress and allowed me to flex my creative muscles, especially in animation. This account gave me the chance to develop new skills and produce engaging, creative content in a space where I felt valued. I also appreciated the opportunity to work with collaborative and talented colleagues. Despite the challenges I later faced on another account, I would return to Oliver if the right opportunity on the right client presented itself.

Cons

The hiring process was one of the most drawn-out I’ve ever experienced, taking seven interviews spread out over months. Once inside, the company culture revealed cracks. Our team's internal standup meetings often devolved into client-bashing or political discussions, which I felt were unprofessional and unnecessary at times. Leadership frequently lacked transparency, especially around job expectations. Town halls were discouraging, as they emphasized financial troubles, client losses, and monetary freezes, which left employees uneasy about long-term stability. When the client on the first account I was on ended its partnership with Oliver, the agency was unable to rehouse many of us, including myself, leaving job security in question. On my second account with a manufacturing client, the problems only deepened. There was no proper onboarding, roles were unclear, turnover was high, and leadership was unsupportive. The environment was stressful, reactive rather than proactive, and full of last-minute demands. Morale was already low, and when the CEO stepped down during this turbulent time, it further eroded any confidence I had in this account and company. In addition, the company’s heavy focus on “woke” branding often felt performative and disconnected from the actual business of marketing. Overall, the combination of poor structure, toxic leadership behaviors, and lack of stability made the experience very difficult by the end.

Pros

Decent benefits HRA helps cover deductibles and co-pays Standard holidays and personal days

Cons

They tell you your role is "full time" only for you to find out later there's a time limit to your role. (Usually a year or less.) Total b.s. when it comes to job security. Make sure your "full-time" role is actually full-time and not some glorified contract for a one-time project.
