Pros

Aside from challenges with senior management, most colleagues are genuinely pleasant and collaborative. The ineffective leadership does trickle down the chain of command and affects the teams and individuals overall.

Cons

The senior leadership team and executive leadership team, along with their direct reports, would benefit from developing greater empathy toward their staff. There is a concerning pattern of treating employees as disposable, rather than valuing their contributions and commitment. This lack of appreciation not only demoralizes talented individuals but also hinders the company’s ability to progress and grow. This is further compounded by uncompetitive salaries, which fail to reflect the value staff bring to the organization. Such practices not only demotivate capable individuals but also contribute to stagnation in the company’s progress and culture.

Pros

Decent pay although it doesn't feel that way in an expensive area. Easy to feel busy and productive everyday.

Cons

Horrible work environment promoted by management. Promotions and disciplinary intervention are solely dependent on favoritism. Employee performance does not determine their treatment. Individuals who are vindictive, lazy, or incompetent can get away with it. Management was out of touch and rarely witnessed actual lab and field operations. This resulted in poor communication about rules which were usually only invoked to retaliate. Harassment was also prevalent. General demeaning comments about women as a class, sexual comments about appearances, blatant staring, and persistent asking out by coworkers made coming to work extra miserable.
