Pros

- Interesting industry - in healthcare, you have the opportunity to know that the work you're doing can help to change lives. - Name recognition - a big global company that most people know (even if you do have to prompt them by saying "you know, the light bulbs") - Global company. There is opportunity to work in various places around the world, if desired.

Cons

- Management makes decisions without understanding real impact on employees. Most often, - Compensation does not reflect industry standard or personal effort. Salaries are generally below average. Bonus structure continues to get worse. Much of the compensation plan is based on factors that only Sr. Management can impact. Individual contribution is not valued for salary consideration. - "Good ol' guys" club is apparent. Long stints at the company mean that people who shouldn't be promoted are given management roles because their friends help them along. You have to tread lightly to be sure you don't offend the wrong people. Lots of game playing.

Pros

The people in non- upper management roles that work there are fantastic. Great sense of community onsite and the culture champions are consistently looking for ways to make work life better.

Cons

Very poor communication on the strategy for the business unit. Leadership publicly promotes innovation and new ideas to be presented but then those ideas are shot down or penalized in private by current upper management. The business unit leadership says that don't want excuses for project delays but will then decide to do 3 major layoffs in the first two quarters with no transition plan, no support for gap in resources and no expectations to delayed progress.
