Pros

- Highly competitive pay for the industry - Crazy low premium for outstanding medical and dental insurance - Pet insurance options - Included Life and OAD&D Insurance Policies, with options to pay for additional coverage for you and your spouse/children - 401k with nearly 10% matching - Pension - Many opportunities for overtime - Annual bonus that is based on company performance and your gross pay for the year - Incredibly safety-oriented work environment. Safety is taken seriously - Company is actively involved with optimizing processes for more sustainable fuel - Many employment opportunities within the company

Cons

- Rotating 12-hr shift schedule (expected and normal for the industry) could be reworked to allow for more consistent sleep and a better work/life balance. We worked a DuPont schedule at the Ferndale Refinery. However, a 7-on 7-off rotating days/nights schedule (like Marathon in Anacortes) could be beneficial for workplace safety and morale.

Pros

- Great pay and benefits (frankly too much for the industry) - Good place for new employees and people approaching mid-career to learn and develop - Great people and culture in certain organizations (Marketing, Lubes)

Cons

- Not a competitive bone in the body of the executive team - Much more time for analysts and reporters than employees - Politics and not leadership determines promotion and future - An eroding culture - Poor development of mid career employees - An executive team that is disconnected and invisible to most employees
