Pros
If you are lucky you may get some nice coworkers. Other than that, it's a waste of time and money. I had to pay $167 out my own checking account to the union, and that money was lost on me! I have nothing to show for it.
Cons
They treat you like dirt. I was hired in October 2016 as a part time employee and then the week of Christmas they had me work 46 hours and I was forced to work Christmas Day with NO HOLIDAY PAY! Then 1 day before my probation period was up, they laid me off. They told me and two others who were hired around the same time that they no longer needed me! Where did my union dues go?!?!
