Pros

- Shell is recognized as a leader in the oil sector, so it will look very good in your Resume - It's a great place to get experience - Good place to get training - Treats well Dutch and British citizens, so if you're one of them, go for it

Cons

- Shell has as their core values: Integrity, Honesty and Respect for People; and they break all of them in the course of doing business, as long as it's suitable for management to do so. They cut costs at the employee's benefit package expense, for instance. That's not "respect for people" - Very clear distinction between Dutch/British and other nationalities, more so than in other companies I've worked or know about

Pros

Early career engineers are given significant ownership and exposure to complex operational challenges. Strong focus on safety, technical development, and collaboration across disciplines. Opportunities to work on high-impact projects, interact with senior leadership, and contribute to decisions affecting major assets and infrastructure.

Cons

Workloads can be demanding, and priorities can shift quickly based on operational needs. Decision-making processes can be slow due to organizational complexity, and geographic mobility may be necessary for certain career opportunities.
