Pros
SSA does have a Flexible Schedule and excellent benefits-- BA Job would be interesting if the Agency took training seriously and not treated it as a boot camp.
Cons
Computer Systems do not talk to each other or many mistakes are made that BA's have to fix with more and more complex cases-- SSA has Poor Training protocols: Poorly written procedures- they are a mess-- -many do not answer complex questions.Problematic cases are solved by teams and real knowledge is gained over time by working in teams -- Training insists that you learn alone thousands of details after bizarre classroom training sessions that are nothing but overviews. After classroom training and overviews of the many databases- comes hands on working cases with mentors who are overworked or are unskilled in training others. Mentors are not allowed to explain cases- Trainees are expected to figure it out alone and with thousands of procedures! Instructors are pulled off the floor and have little or no experience in teaching. Personalities -- watch out! SSA's training regime is a very brutal way to learn. Not worth it! Building has had problems-- pests etc.
