Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am so pleased to hear you loved working here. I do too! I understand your feedback about our sales quotas; we set high expectations for our sales teams. We know we are selling something special. Global tax requirements are rapidly changing, and businesses have to update their processes down to the transactional level in order to not only comply, but to thrive. In short, companies need what we sell – and our sales team is uniquely positioned to take advantage of this. We set our quotas accordingly. It’s important for us to set aggressive, and realistic quotas for every last quota carrying team member to ensure our employees are set up for success. Every year we re-analyze the market opportunity in front of us and establish annual quotas accordingly. In addition, sales team members are supported by leadership, ongoing sales training initiatives, sales operations teams, marketing leads, and so many other resources across the business. Quota carriers have uncapped commission, so the opportunity is there for our sales team to take advantage. Lastly, you are completely right about work/life balance. That is why we have a flexible time off program in the US and have moved to a global flexible work model. I thank you for the time that you spent here. We cheered your successes while you were here, and we will continue to do so as you grow your career elsewhere.

Thank you for sharing this, and welcome to the team! It's wonderful to hear that your recruiting experience set such a positive tone from the start. Cassie is a great example of the kind of Sovosians we are proud to have representing our culture, and knowing she made you feel informed and at ease throughout the process genuinely matters to us. We also love hearing that your first day onboarding helped you connect with our values and get a feel for what we do. That experience is something we work hard to get right, and your feedback confirms it's landing the way we intend. We're glad you're here, and we look forward to growing together. Pros

Being Remote and standard benefits

Cons

Sales leadership is horrendous. New people are brought in not trained, aggressive targets (that have never been hit) usually designed to be the escape goats to protect the old guard. Long tenured sales protects the existing power structures. When results slip, they blame newer reps. New hires don’t hit, quotas unrealistic, weak implementation. Nightmare of a company, the worst I have ever worked at.

Thank you for taking the time to share this. Feedback matters, even when we see things differently. Quota-setting and new hire ramp structures are areas we invest in seriously - they're because we want our sellers to win, not to set anyone up to fail. That's the culture we've built, and it's one I'm proud of. That said, I do hear that your experience hasn't matched that intent. If there are specific gaps in how you were onboarded or supported, I'd genuinely like to understand them so we can keep getting better. Please connect with HR or reach out to me directly. We're committed to building a team where every rep has a real shot at success! Alice Katwan, President of Revenue, Sovos
