Pros

Sovos has a solid product with good market potential. Some amazing and hardworking colleagues who truly care about their work.

Cons

No Real Training: They offer useless generic training sessions, but when it comes to actual product-related training, there’s nothing. Employees are expected to figure things out on their own. No Team Meetings or Employee Check-ins: I honestly don’t remember the last time management arranged a team meeting or even a casual catch-up call to check on employees. Unresponsive Management: Whenever we request support or feedback—especially on critical matters like salary raises on recent promotions—management either completely ignores it for months or avoids the conversation altogether. Shocking Handling of Salary Raises: The pay raise I received after my promotion was disappointingly low. When I raised concerns, leadership ignored me for months. After constant follow-ups, they finally had a meeting only to put the blame on me. Their reasoning? The only way to give me a fair raise would be to fire other employees. Instead of addressing the issue, they wanted me to "put myself in other people’s shoes" and accept it as fair. Absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable. Leadership is Disconnected & Lacks Empathy: Upper management is completely out of touch with reality. They expect miracles from employees while giving absolutely nothing in return. Hardworking people are leaving in frustration, yet leadership refuses to acknowledge or even have a conversation with them before they go. Toxic Culture & No Accountability: The company has been completely destroyed by the current management. They are ignorant, unprofessional, and severely lack basic soft skills or emotional intelligence. Employees are treated like disposable assets, and there’s no effort to improve morale or retain talent.

“Thank you for your honest feedback. I’m glad to hear you see the strength and market-potential of our products and appreciated the hard work of your colleagues – we truly are fortunate to have such dedicated people on our team. I’m sorry to hear about your frustrations, especially around leadership and communication. As a current employee, I am sure you have seen our messages acknowledging improvement opportunities and the focused actions we are implementing, as advised by employee-led focus groups providing. It’s clear we fell short in your experience, and that’s something I personally take to heart. I hope you see improvement going forward. Our leadership team is deeply committed to building an environment where employees feel connected and respected. It is simply unacceptable not to have consistent 1-on-1 meetings and team check-ins. These conversations are crucial for ensuring employees feel supported and voice their needs and concerns. These touchpoints are a priority because we care about our people and their experiences. We need leaders who can explain messages with clarity and are willing to hear from employees directly. I want you to know that your feedback matters and helps us get better. We care deeply about our employees, and we’re committed to making Sovos a place where everyone feels supported, respected, and empowered to grow. If you’re open to it, I’d welcome the chance to learn more about your experience to help us understand where we went wrong and how we can improve. Thank you again for sharing your perspective. We’re listening, and we’re committed to doing better. “ Kevin Akeroyd, CEO

Thank you for sharing this, and welcome to the team! It's wonderful to hear that your recruiting experience set such a positive tone from the start. Cassie is a great example of the kind of Sovosians we are proud to have representing our culture, and knowing she made you feel informed and at ease throughout the process genuinely matters to us. We also love hearing that your first day onboarding helped you connect with our values and get a feel for what we do. That experience is something we work hard to get right, and your feedback confirms it's landing the way we intend. We're glad you're here, and we look forward to growing together. Pros

Being Remote and standard benefits

Cons

Sales leadership is horrendous. New people are brought in not trained, aggressive targets (that have never been hit) usually designed to be the escape goats to protect the old guard. Long tenured sales protects the existing power structures. When results slip, they blame newer reps. New hires don’t hit, quotas unrealistic, weak implementation. Nightmare of a company, the worst I have ever worked at.

Thank you for taking the time to share this. Feedback matters, even when we see things differently. Quota-setting and new hire ramp structures are areas we invest in seriously - they're because we want our sellers to win, not to set anyone up to fail. That's the culture we've built, and it's one I'm proud of. That said, I do hear that your experience hasn't matched that intent. If there are specific gaps in how you were onboarded or supported, I'd genuinely like to understand them so we can keep getting better. Please connect with HR or reach out to me directly. We're committed to building a team where every rep has a real shot at success! Alice Katwan, President of Revenue, Sovos
