Pros
Relatively easy to get the job and get your foot in the door. From there you can continue up the financial ladder if you choose. Comfortable role, but very people facing and you will get all sorts of people walk in through those doors, some nice, some not so much. Hybrid role where you are both a bank teller and an accounts opener.
Cons
Dealing with people's issues can be a big headache every day. Scams are abundant, people have financial troubles and all sorts of other issues. Great for getting experience working with people but sometimes you will act as a therapist almost while waiting on the phone line with the customer to help put them through to the appropriate internal team. You act as the messenger between the higher levels in the organisation and the customer. Can be fine but is often mentally taxing.
