Pros
Incredible benefits (Health, Dental, Vision, 401k, Stock options, Reduced price on Shares), and a tremendous willingness to work with their part-time employees multitude of obligations. Terrific if you like interacting with people. To see the same customers, over and over, is wonderful, and you build a real rapport.
Cons
Very early hours, and wearing on the body with so much time standing. Usually my hips/calves would ache, as well as my back. The breaks are reasonable, happening every 2 hours (in an ideal world), but standing for 6-8 hours, cumulatively, is inherently tough on your body. Also, the coffee, regrettably, isn't the most refined product. Granted, it's my personal palette, but there are many other roasters/coffee companies who have a gentler, and more fully rounded flavor. Starbucks tends to impart a harsher, edgier, and often noted as burnt flavor to their beans. A shame, really, because they really are lovers of good coffee, just different then what I guess I like
