Pros
Syngenta has learned the trickle down effect on the bottom line of taking care of it's employees! I think this is their greatest strength. you never have to worry about getting sick or needing to go pick up a sick child from school. Syngenta takes work/life balance VERY seriously. they offer a very competitive benefits/salary package and you have tremendous opportunity to move up, sideways or diagonally. It's all up to you.
Cons
Pay not quite as good as other chemical industries (e.g. pharma) but very competitive for our industry. As with many large organizations, data sharing across the company could be improved. Because Syngenta takes people and family seriously, they are extremely reluctant to let people go, preferring instead to try to move people around until they find a "home" which can occasionally result in having people in roles that they shouldn't be in. This also results in senior level managers staying in their role too long and preventing fresh ideas from coming in.
