Pros

5 free products every quarter Regular incentives Kindness days, compassionate leave Generous holiday allowance Rota 6 weeks in advance Kind colleagues Good breaks Opportunities to work way up and work in different stores.

Cons

Exploitative: Everyone made to be a key holder and given extra responsibility without a pay increase; 4 hour shifts are norm for many workers and used to cover breaks so a 16 hour contract could mean 4 shifts a week; focus on KPIs and sales figures, management is rewarded but staff are not. Very small pay differences between CCs, TLs and Assistant Managers. Late nights 2 days a week (21:30 finish). Lack of support from Regional Managers following staff surveys where staff complaints are not taken seriously and staff are made to feel like the problem. Have to do events, sometimes after closing time. No exit interview upon leaving. Staff complaints often ignored and brushed off. They convince uni students to become TLs when they are understaffed so they don’t have to hire more people, and then exploit them in terms of making them work above their contract consistently. Training for TLs is often not sufficient. Many campaigns are shallow and staff are not properly trained to talk about them with customers. Greenwashed company.
